Thursday October 4

Executive Board  Meeting, 6:00 to 7:00 pm.

 Formal Meeting,  7:00 to 9:00 pm Thornhill Auditorium. “Digital Art”  Presented by Todd Buck. Todd is a Medical and Scientific Illustrator and assistant professor of Illustration at Northern Illinois University in DeKalb.  He uses both traditional and digital techniques, preferring airbrushed acrylics on Bristol and Adobe Photoshop.  www.toddbuck.com

Holiday Exhibit Postcards and Posters will be available for members to distribute.  Pease help us promote our Art Exhibit!  Materials will also be available in Education office after the meeting date.

Tuesday November 27

Paint-out  and view the Valentien Botannical Watercolor Exhibit  9:30 am to Noon , Rice Gallery at The Field Museum.  Meet for Lunch and “show and tell” at Corner Bakery at Noon.

Thursday December 6

Holiday Meeting and Party 7:00 to 9:00 pm. Founder’s Room, Thornhill Installation of Officers, refreshments & raffle. Guests are welcome.

October 4, 2007 Meeting

Todd Buck, a Medical and Scientific Illustrator will be the presenter for the October 4th meeting.   He is an Assistant Professor of Illustration at Northern Illinois University in DeKalb.

 

He uses both traditional and digital techniques, preferring airbrushed acrylics on Bristol and Adobe Photoshop.  Todd will be demonstrating his digital techniques.  Check out his website at www.toddbuck.com. 

The meeting will be at 7:00 pm in the Thornhill Auditorium  at the Thornhill Education Center in The Morton Arboretum. Guest are welcome.

Hosta named for Guild Member!

The American Hosta Society has named a new hosta The “Iris Frazier” in memorial of our guild member Iris Frazier, who passed away last year. The hosta is a sunny plant with yellow Quilted leaves surrounded by a rich green Border that darts in and out of the center. More information will be available in the fall Quarterly.
