The Guild’s August formal meeting – August 6th at 7:00pm in the Arboretum’s Thornhill Auditorium – will feature 4 Guild members demonstrating techniques:

Denise Fisk: Painting animals
Maggie Mardis: Creating a colored paper background for colored pencil and graphite drawings
Connie Devendorf: Faux finishes and natural history subjects
Patty Koenigsaecher: Fiber arts

Also Suzanne Wegener, the Guild’s Arboretum Liaison, will be on hand to answer questions about the referee process for our Exhibitions. This is a great opportunity for members who have never exhibited in Guild shows and have questions about what’s involved/required.

Formal programs start at 7:00 p.m. at the Thornhill Education Center.

Michelle LeBlanc, founder & CEO of Naperville Cultural Center, presents creative ways to promote and market your work and prepare for exhibits.

October 1st
Marlene Hill Donnelly, scientific illustrator at The Field Museum. Scientific illustration and enhancing giclée prints with pastels.

The Guild’s February 5th formal meeting will feature Peggy Macnamara, Artist-in-Residence at the Field Museum. Peggy will be discussing watercolors and techniques from her latest book, Architecture by Birds and Insects.

The meeting starts at 7:00 p.m.

The Guild’s annual Holiday Party is scheduled for Thursday, December 4th from 7:00 to 9:00 pm in the Founders Room at Thornhill.

The evening will include installation of officers, pot luck refreshments and a raffle.The raffle features items donated by members; proceeds benefit the Guild.

Join the fun – and bring a guest or two!

The October 2 formal meeting will feature Costa Rican artist Gerardo Valerio Trigueros demonstrating his hyper-realistic acrylic painting tecnhique. You can view Mr. Valerio’s work here.
