From an early age I loved observing, painting and drawing nature. I believe the essential part of being an artist is learning to “see.” In my art I try to express the joy I get from seeing the play of light on a landscape, the wonder felt when observing the detail in a bird’s feathers, a flower’s petals or a seed pod. The process of observing and then trying to capture in a drawing or painting what I feel about the subject is a continuing learning process that I love.
