The Nature Artists’ Guild is managed exclusively by volunteers. While there are basic duties required for each position, volunteers are also encouraged to suggest and implement (with agreement by the board) their own ideas. The Guild is always growing and changing and welcomes creativity from its leaders! Volunteers will be able to work with experienced committee members until they are comfortable working independently.

Time Involvement
Typically averages fewer than 3 hours per month. Chairpersons are welcome to ask for assistance from other members or form sub-committees when needed. Chairpersons are asked to serve for at least one full calendar year when possible.
Basic Required Duties
Coordinate, give direction to, and assist sub-committee members (Program Refreshments, Exhibit Refreshments, Holiday Party, Holiday Card Exchange) with the following responsibilities –
- Arrange for the availability of snacks and drinks for the March, June, August, and October Guild programs held at The Morton Arboretum. Snacks can be purchased (with Guild reimbursement) or arranged to be supplied by Guild members.
- Set up snacks and drinks table at the March, June, August, and October Guild programs held at The Morton Arboretum from 7 to 9 pm. Coffee pots and utensils are stored at the Arboretum.
- Coordinate the annual holiday party held the first Thursday evening in December at the Thornhill Education Center of The Morton Arboretum. Work with Arboretum staff to procure tables, linens, and other basic supplies. Arrange for (with the help of a sub-committee, if desired) to assist with invitations (electronic), centerpieces, entertainment, a musician, and other miscellaneous items.
- Arrange for and Set up refreshments for the Artists’ Receptions for the Spring and Autumn exhibits held at The Morton Arboretum.
- Coordinate the annual Holiday Card Exchange by collecting and distributing names and issuing instructions, reminders, and follow-ups.
- Attend board meetings when possible. Meetings are held the first Thursday of most months at 6 pm at The Morton Arboretum or online.
